We all want the most beautiful end of life for our parents. We are prepared to do so, but do we succeed? The Frisian theater company Pier21 has created a special performance about the dilemmas surrounding informal care and the end of life.
Anneke has found a new love in her life in Theo. Together they try to give Anneke's father and mother a dignified last phase of life. But Daniel and Wimmy value their autonomy and their lifelong bond: they choose to voluntarily end their completed lives together.
"Evening" is a tragicomedy about four people full of love and interconnectedness, who see their good intentions smothered in the vagaries of life. A heartwarming performance about informal care and completed life played by two born actors full of zest for life: Joke Tjalsma and Paul R. Kooij. With texts by Bouke Oldenhof and directed by Jos Thie.
After a highly successful tour in 2019 with 12,000 visitors along theaters, village halls and health care institutions, 'Evening' will return in 2025.
