Program

  • In the morning, between 09:00 and 11:00, all musicians will gather on the Marktstraat where they can catch up over coffee and cake.
  • At 11:00 am is the opening speech during which all band members and supporters will of course be welcomed.
  • After that, former Blauhúster Dakkapellid member Eppo Silvius will give the starting signal by chanting the words "Fire, flame, loose. At that moment, all musicians will then put in 'Het Sneeker Dweillied' together with the chapel 'Boppeslach'.
  • In the afternoon at half past four the final program starts on the Marktstraat. Around a quarter past 5 is the award ceremony and the more than 750 musicians will conclude this day, again with 'Het Sneeker Dweillied'.

Some more facts:

  • Next to the Waterpoort is, on or near the vessel 'De Dorstlesser', a photo opportunity for all the bands.
  • In the 'Weduwe Joustra Steeg' (Scharnestraat) the bands can, during or after having a Joustra-beerenburgje, participate in the so-called 'Valsblaaskonkoers'. This part is a resounding success every year!!!
The bands must play a song for 1 minute as well as possible, then as out of tune as possible, but in such a way that the melody is still recognizable. To be on the safe side, earplugs are available!
