The Elfmerenschaatstocht is a beautiful tour along eleven lakes and pools of the southwestern corner of Friesland. The route with a length of approximately 115 kilometers, passes seven of the eleven Frisian cities.

The Elfmerentocht was first organized in 1967 by cycling club RTC Rally from Sneek. The tour has been held every year since then with only two interruptions in 2001 due to the foot and mouth crisis and in 2020 due to the Corona crisis. The elfmerentocht guarantees a sporty day out, with a beautiful route along the Frisian lakes through idyllic countryside. Everyone is welcome: young and old, cyclists with or without pedal assistance and steppers. Every year you can register for 3 distances via elfmerenfietstocht.nl.

If you want to cycle it on your own, you can also follow this bicycle route along the eleven lakes. This route is about 150 kilometers. If necessary, you can deviate from the route to visit nearby attractions.
