The Douwe Tammingalân route leads from Sneek to IJsbrechtum through a beautiful meadow park*). Along the route land are poems by Douwe Tamminga. You have a beautiful view of the lands around Sneek.

The total route indicated here is 6.5 km, but you can shorten it to 3.5 km by turning off in IJsbrechtum after the Kleasterwei towards Sneek, via the Epemawei/Schoonoord/Harste. If you walk the entire route you will return to the starting point via the Epemastate estate via the Hemmen industrial area.

*) Before you enter this nature park you go through a small gate with next to it a sign with rules, which you have to obey. Especially dogs must be kept on a leash. Meadow birds seek protection for their nests and chicks in the high grass and dogs running loose can seriously disturb this. The breeding season is from March 15 to June 15, after which mowing is also allowed.
