Streetart, I tink oan dy
Project 11 walls in 11 cities
'I TINK OAN DY' *
In 1977, Andre Hazes wrote the Christmas hit "A Lonely Christmas. We could not have imagined then that Christmas in 2020 is unfortunately threatening to become lonelier than ever. Partly because of this, we wanted to add extra color and joy to the Christmas period for the inhabitants of Fryslan, to give its inhabitants a heart to heart. On 11 walls in the 11 cities of Fryslan there is a work of art, a so-called 'painting by numbers' artwork with an image on it representing a positive Christmas thought.
The artworks can be used as a photo location, so that the photo taken can then be sent digitally as a Christmas card to family, friends and acquaintances. Mienskip, social connectedness, joining forces and positive energy is what our society desperately needs right now. An eye for another person who could use support especially in this period. A small friendly gesture with greater impact than we might think. The inhabitants of Fryslan can send a card to someone who could use some support.
* Explanation of the title: 'Ik tink oan dy' in this context means both 'I think about you' and 'I think about you'
