In 2008 the housing foundation Patrimonium Sneek merged with 4 other foundations in the region to form the Accolade housing cooperative. In the years after 1992, the former Patrimonium had included in its policy to provide 8 of its housing complexes with art. This work of art was the first in that series.

The artwork was designed by Henk Rusman from Hillegom, a resident of Oudebiltzijl in Friesland since 1980. The artwork is located in a triangular space bounded by the Franekervaart, the Noorderbuurt and the Parkstraat. It is a striking point on the threshold to the inner city of Sneek.
