Pedestrian bridges Handel & Wandel( Grootzand Sneek)
At the initiative of the Grootzand shopkeepers, the former connection between water & city has been restored. The stainless steel hearts symbolize Sneek's historic ring of canals & town center. With these two additional bridges, pedestrians no longer have to detour to get to the other side of the canal. The intention of the project is therefore to improve accessibility to the shopping street. The walking connections have been given the names Handel and Wandel. Commissioned by the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, the work was carried out by Noflik. Wijbenga architects and consultants designed the bridges.
