Lake Tjeukemeer & islets

Lake Tjeukemeer is not equally deep everywhere. Especially the northeastern part is very shallow, less than one meter. In the lake are the islands Tsjûkepolle, Marchjepolle and Ganzetippe. Island Marchjepolder is the largest of the three islands. You can moor there and there is a beach.

Around the lake are the villages of Echten, Echtenerbrug, Rohel, Delfstrahuizen, Oosterzee and Oldeouwer. The joint village center of Echtenerbrug and Delfstrahuizen forms the main core. There are also several campsites along the lake.
