XMAS Sneek Christmas parade & igniting Christmas lights

In December, Sneek's town center is transformed into a beautifully lit winter scene. The big Christmas tree is once again decorated and all of Sneek is enveloped in atmospheric Christmas lights. With extra shopping evenings, extra shopping Sundays and various warm winter Christmas activities, Sneek in the December month is definitely worth a (shopping) visit!

SATURDAY 14 DECEMBER
16.00 - 17.30 XMAS SNEEK CHRISTMAS PARADE

This Saturday Santa Claus makes his festive entrance into Sneek during the Christmas Parade. At 16.00 several floats and walking (music) acts start and make a route through the center. End point is the Schaapmarktplein at 5 p.m. where the large Christmas tree is festively illuminated.

Beautifully lit floats move through the city and hand out treats to children. Around 5 p.m. we will gather at the Schaapmarktplein where Santa Claus will ignite the Christmas tree lights. You are welcome to come and sample a glass of chocolate milk or mulled wine.

Veemarkthal, Stationsstraat, Martiniplein, Oud Kerkhof, Marktstraat, Leeuwenburg, Grootzand ZZ, Singel, Kleinzand, Jousterkade, Oosterdijk, Wijde Burgstraat, Nauwe Burgstraat, Schaapmarktplein, Grootzand ZZ, Hoogend, Oude Koemarkt, Grote Kerkstraat, Marktstraat, Leeuwenburg, Schaapmarktplein.

On the Schaapmarktplein, Santa's car will stop for the ignition of the Christmas tree lights.

In the evening you can still enjoy the Christmas cheer in one of the many catering establishments in the city until the late hours.
