Ambitions are great. Always. That one performance where everything converges. The personal and the universal. The fun and the drama. The poetic and the vulgar. The sense and the nonsense. And the madness, also of the lot. The audience must come out simultaneously enlightened and weighted down. Confused. Liberated. Comforted. Reborn. An impossible task. Impossible work, in other words. But sometimes exactly that is the work that needs to be done.
