In 2025, pop venue Het Bolwerk will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a series of special shows by artists who have a special connection to the venue. On Friday, March 14, it is the turn of The Cool Quest. The band, which originated in Sneek and has since created an international furor, returns to the place where it all began.

Singer Vincent Bergsma is looking forward to the show: "It brings a kind of nostalgia with it anyway. We have a strong connection to The Bolwerk through the days of jam sessions in The Atrium, the adjacent arts center. This is where we met more than ten years ago and where The Cool Quest was born. We have many fond memories of Het Bolwerk, from the first jam sessions and performing for Queen Beatrix to playing our own club shows. It is therefore extra special to return to our roots in this anniversary year."

Since their early days in Sneek, The Cool Quest have come an impressive way. With over 600 shows in 14 countries, performances at major festivals such as Eurosonic Noorderslag and Reeperbahn Festival and a successful career in the Netherlands and abroad, the band is among the most energetic live acts of the moment. 3FM Megahits like Runnin' (Radio 538 Harde Schijf) and Shine brought them national fame and opened international doors. Their track Goodlife was included in the official soundtrack of EA-Sports NHL and they are a frequent guest on radio and TV, including as house band for NOS Studio Peking. They also have the Radio 6 Soul & Jazz Award for Best Group to their name.

Returning to Sneek feels like a trip down memory lane, says Vincent: "In Sneek it always feels a bit like coming home. There is a casual atmosphere and there are always many acquaintances present. This will be a very special evening."

Although The Cool Quest are currently working on their third album and only play a limited number of shows, they didn't want to miss this opportunity. "This is one of the few gigs we're doing this spring because we're in the middle of working on new material. But for Het Bolwerk we are happy to make an exception. We promise an energetic show where everyone can go wild."

On Friday, March 14, The Cool Quest returns to Het Bolwerk for an evening of energy, grooves and nostalgia. Whether you've been following the band for years or have never seen them live, this show is not to be missed!
