Sneekweek 2025

Sneekweek is the ultimate summer festival for water sports enthusiasts and partygoers. For one week Sneek is filled with spectacular sailing regattas, vibrant festivities and countless activities for young and old. During the day you can enjoy the sailing regattas on the Sneekermeer and in the evening the party breaks loose on the music squares in town.

Opening with Battleship

The Sneekweek traditionally starts on the first Saturday in August, but the festivities begin on Friday evening with the official opening and the fleet scow. During this impressive ceremony, the "Boat of the Year" and the "Skipper in the Order of the Sneeker Pan" are presented, while dozens of beautifully lit ships sail through the canals.

Sailing competitions: Sportsmanship and Conviviality

Sneekweek is the largest inland water sailing event in Europe. Sailors of recognized classes compete on the Sneekermeer for the win, with the Starteiland as the vibrant centerpiece. Hop on the ferry to the island and experience the competition atmosphere up close!

Party in the City

After a day on the water the fun moves to the center of Sneek. Spread out over several music squares you will enjoy live performances in various music styles, while the cafes also turn out with live music and entertainment.

Street theater & children's fun

During Sneekweek, Sneek turns into one big stage. Street theater acts from home and abroad will provide surprising and amusing entertainment. There is also plenty of entertainment for children: the Sneekweek Children's Afternoon guarantees an afternoon of games, fun and adventure!

Sneekweekkermis

From Friday evening until Thursday you can enjoy the Sneekweek Fairground on the Martiniplein. With a mix of exciting attractions and nostalgic fairground classics, there's fun for everyone!

Water Sports & Fun

During Sneekweek it's all about water fun. Take part in the hilarious rubber boat race through the Sneker canals or discover the town from the water on a relaxing suptour.

Hardzeildagbraderie

On the Wednesday of the Sneekweek, the center of Sneek turns into one big open-air shopping paradise. Stroll along the cozy Hardzeildagbraderie and discover the nicest stalls with clothing, accessories, local products and much more.
