SKS Skutsjesilen

The SKS championship skûtsjesilen is traditionally held during the northern construction vacation. Our fourteen SKS skûtsjes sail eleven races at ten different locations in Fryslân in 2025 from July 26 to August 8. The fourteen skippers compete during the championship for the Sulveren Skûtsje and eternal fame.

The big battle in SKS skûtsjesilen is for the SKS championship. That goes to the skûtsjeschipper who has accumulated as few points as possible. The final ranking is calculated after the series of eleven races. The worst race is deducted from the point total. Penalty points as a result of a protest, may no longer be considered the worst result, so always count for the classification.

The skûtsje with the least number of points after the last race is the SKS champion. If an equal result remains between two or more skûtsjes, the order of arrival in the last race is decisive.
