But that is a thing of the past: increasingly, Van Gorp is finding his way to a large audience, and to an ever-growing number of music freaks he is now considered one of the best, most tasteful singers in the Netherlands. As a backing vocalist, he has worked with an almost endless list of national and international luminaries: Al Jarreau, Paul Carrack, Chaka Khan, Jacob Collier, Roger Hodgson and the Metropole Orchestra. And domestically, he toured extensively with Marco Borsato, Oleta Adams, Trijntje Oosterhuis and Ladies of Soul, among others.

What began tentatively in 1956 as a duo of two shy childhood friends grew into the world-famous duo "Simon and Garfunkel" in the 1960s, culminating in the 1970 album Bridge Over Troubled Water. Paul Simon then continued on his own. Few people know that of the two, he was the one who wrote all the songs.
Paul Simon was also very successful as a solo artist, with big hits such as Late In The Evening, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, You Call Me Al, Graceland and all kinds of movie scores. His musical career spanned no less than sixty years.

When Paul Simon - who himself is already over eighty - recently decided to stop performing, the idea arose within The Royal Dutch Scam during the successful theater tour "Lo Sings Sting" to also highlight the music of master songwriter Paul Simon. For his extensive and versatile oeuvre, Paul Simon himself always brought in the very best musicians to realize his musical ideas, such as Steve Gadd, Phil Woods, Richard Tee, Michael Brecker and Toots Thielemans.
Singer Lo van Gorp and his band The Royal Dutch Scam previously proved themselves in national theaters by performing the repertoire of Steely Dan and Sting with razor-sharp, animated and uncanny perfection. The band has been hailed everywhere as one of the very best tribute bands in the world.
In the program "Lo Sings Paul Simon," Lo and The Royal Dutch Scam pay a colorful and worthy tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Fans of Paul Simon should not miss this!
