Lecture: the life of an inland skipper

Kleinzand 16 Sneek
Being an inland skipper is not just a profession, it is a way of life. Using stories from his family, which has been in inland navigation for generations, Bouke Oppewal gives an insight into that life.
  • Wednesday 13 November19:30 - 21:00

Where do you live on a ship, and what does it look like? What journeys do you make, and what do you have to consider in order to deliver your cargo on time? And what has changed in the course of time? Bouke tells it all with a lot of material from the photo albums of his pake, heit and brother, who were all barge skippers.

The lecture is on Wednesday evening, November 13, and starts at 19.30 hours. Walk-in from 19.00 hrs. Please register in advance via balie@friesscheepvaartmuseum.nl.
