Kiek, dit maakt Sneek is the last of the triptych of exhibitions about Sneek in the twentieth century, which the Fries Scheepvaart Museum makes together with the Vereniging Historisch Sneek. After the street scene and club life, we now turn our attention to the activity in the town.

This began in and near the old inner city. Over time, one form of manufacturing industry after another moved to new sites outside the canals, or even outside Sneek. The inner city changed into a shopping area with restaurants, offices and residential houses. But the familiar Sneker brands live on in the collective memory, and traces of the old companies can still be found in abundance in the center.

In Kiek, this makes Sneek, through photographs and objects of real Sneker companies such as Gaastra, Tonnema, Poiesz and Lankhorst, we see the developments in industry, and their influence on the town. The exhibition can be seen until March 2025.
