Gord & Jesse
- Sunday 30 March
16:00 - 18:30
Gordon Lightfoot (1938-2023) is considered the greatest Canadian singer/songwriter ever. Known for songs such as "Sundown," "If you could read my mind," That same old obsession," Canadian Railroad Trilogy," "Early morning rain," "Alberta bound" and "Rainy day people," "Don Quixote" among others.
Jesse Winchester (1944-2014) fled from the southern USA to Canada in the 1960s because of the Vietnam War. There he built a successful career with songs such as: 'Brand New Tennessee Waltz', 'Biloxi', 'Yankee Lady', 'Mississippi your on my mind', 'Black Dog', 'Bless your Foolish Heart' and others.
Both of their repertoire has been sung and recorded by many country, folk and pop artists over the past 50 years.
Gerard & Company honors them in this nostalgic program.
In their own arrangements, they play a number of familiar and unfamiliar songs, along with stories about Gord & Jesse.
