Filmhuis Sneek shows unique footage of Sneek from about 100 years ago.
  • 17 January en 19 January

Good news for those who want to imagine themselves in the Sneek of a hundred years ago. The Fries Film Archive has recovered special footage of the city from the 1920s and 1930s. The footage is unique because only a few medium-sized cities in the Netherlands have preserved so much footage from that period. During the Sneker Filmwinter, these images will be shown twice more, on Friday, January 17, 2:15 pm and Sunday, January 19, 4:00 pm.

The screening will be complemented by a special selection from the 2018 Archive in honor of Cultural Capital.

The oldest film dates back to 1920. It is footage of the people's games on Queen's Day in Sneek, 'Grote Winkelfeesten' from 1922 and the promotion of v.v. Sneek in 1932 to the highest division.
Accompanied live by Snekologist Alice Booij
