Exhibition About Nature

Galerie Bax Kunst opens its doors on Nov. 16 for the special exhibition About Nature, which highlights the beauty and depth of nature. This exhibition combines the watercolors, etchings and paintings of nationally known artist Ad Arma with the refined ceramics of Liesbeth Daale. Visitors can experience this inspiring exhibition at Singel 82 in Sneek through December 28, 2024 - or online, via Bax Kunst's website and YouTube channel.

Ad Arma: Life and art as a unity

For Ad Arma, art is not just a passion; it is his life. "My work and life are completely fused," he says. "The work ís my life." In About Nature, Arma shares his profound vision of timeless nature as a ceaseless stream in which everything and everyone is in constant motion. His works reflect themes such as the passing of time, shared vulnerability and constant change. "Nature is an all-encompassing phenomenon of which we are a part," he says. "No beginning, no end and no dimension, only progress."

In his watercolors, etchings and smaller paintings, he explores the melancholy and beauty of consciousness and presence in the world. "What moves me I can't pinpoint," he explains, "but that very mystery already moves me." This personal philosophy is reflected in the works on display at Galerie Bax Kunst, which invite visitors to reflect on their own relationship with nature.

Ad Arma enjoys fame as one of Holland's finest artists. Named Artist of the Year in 2007 and Brilliant Artist of the Year in 2021. He is also well known internationally and his work can be seen at numerous locations.

Liesbeth Daale: organic ceramics as the perfect complement

Alongside the works of Ad Arma, ceramic sculptures by Liesbeth Daale will be exhibited, whose organic forms and subtle textures perfectly complement the theme. In addition to the exhibition at Galerie Bax Kunst, an overview of more than twenty of Ad Arma's monumental paintings is on display at the Kunstencentrum Atrium in Sneek. These impressive works hang in the Atrium's spacious auditorium, giving visitors a chance to fully immerse themselves in Arma's dynamic themes and expressive, grand style. This special survey is a special complement to the more intimate display in the gallery.
