Christmas concert Evergreens

In the attractively decorated great hall we will again bring a very varied program.

How about: Jingle Bell Rock, a real rock and roll number, released in 1957 by Joe Beal and Jim Boothe and re-sung by many afterwards. Or Sing Noël Noël, a Gospel Rock from 2001. This song is originally from Africa and has been re-arranged by Allan Peter. Also not missing will be the well-known gospel Go tell it to the mountain and the cheerful Merry Christmas everyone. And a beautiful evergreen: you may remember the warm voice of Bing Crosby in his rendition of White Christmas. We have our own warm tenor voice. And then we also have the impressive cantata: Jesus bleibet Meine Freude by Johann Sebastian Bach back on the program after several years of absence. The full program will be on the website after December 12.

All this under the inspiring leadership of conductor Erwin de Ruijter and accompanied by our combo consisting of pianist: Itske Brakels, guitarist Peter Brakels, bass guitarist Ronald Postma and drummer Leo Roodhof.

It promises to be a beautiful and fun party again!

A raffle with nice prizes will be organized for the benefit of the choir. Before the concert and during the intermission the lottery tickets will be sold in the foyer and after the concert the prizes can be picked up at the billiard table.

Want to see more of us: Evergreens will also participate in the Christmas Choir Festival in Sneek on Saturday, December 14. We will perform on the Schaapmarktplein at 14.05h and at 15.25h. A performance is 30 minutes.

And it takes a while yet but also our Spring Concert is already fixed: on Saturday evening April 12, 2025 from 20.00h to 22.00h.

After the Christmas vacations, rehearsals in the Spil will resume on Thursday, January 9.
