Canal Concert

The Grachtenconcert in Sneek promises to be another unforgettable musical evening this year. On Friday, August 8, the Westersingel in Sneek will transform into a magical open-air concert venue. This event, a sequel to the successful Sneekweek Slotconcert, is a unique opportunity to enjoy (semi)classical music in the beautiful surroundings of the Sneker canals. Don't miss it!

Unique Musical Experience
The Grachtenconcert was first organized as part of the Sneekweek in honor of the 80th anniversary of the sailing week. It turned out to be a hit: a (semi)classical open air concert that showed a completely different sound than the usual music on the town squares. Because of this great success it was decided to organize the concert annually, this year right after the Sneekweek!
After previous successful editions, the concert is once again a part of Sneek's cultural program. It is made possible by the municipality of Súdwest Fryslân, Sneek Promotion, St. Sneekweek, Vereniging Ondernemend Sneek and the Lionsclub Sneek Waterstad. Thanks to the efforts of these organizations, the event is not only musically, but also socially widely supported.

During the Grachtenconcert you can enjoy performances by both amateur and professional musicians. One of the highlights is the Basic XL band, known for their versatile wind music and collaboration with symphony orchestras such as the Frysk Jeugdorkest. In addition, soloists and other talented performances will be part of this musical Sneker cultural happening.

The concert is free to attend along the quays, but there is something special about attending from the water. With your own boat or sloop you can experience the concert up close and enjoy the unique atmosphere on the canals.
